make your mouth water even on the page.

Let us help you discover the true flavours of our city through anecdotes, traditions and interesting facts about
Genoa from the coast to the countryside. Our famous street food will evoke the aromas and flavours of the
past in the many shops of the historical centre.

heart of the medieval city through the Sottoripa arcade and explore its wine cellars, colonial shops, grocery
stores and fried food. There will be a compulsory stop at the sciamadde, where you will have the chance to
try typical Genoese street food: vegetable pies and farinata baked exclusively in wood ovens.

Vertical Genoa – Urban Trekking

Duration: 3 hours

Genoa is a vertical city!

The panoramic lift takes us to 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗼, from where you can enjoy an enchanting view of the city and its port.

With a short walk we arrive at the imposing building of the Albergo dei Poveri, erected in the mid-1600s as a new shelter intended to give hospitality to the city’s poor, to continue on to the suggestive 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲.

We are a stone’s throw from the university heart, yet we will find ourselves in another dimension, made of timeless corners, where we find alleys with sweet and evocative names, such as vico del Cioccolatte, dello Zucchero, hidden and suggestive squares, such as Piazza della Giuggiola and Piazza San Bartolomeo dell’Olivella, where the ancient church and the adjoining convent that housed the Circestensi nuns still stand.

We will continue to Piazza del Carmine where we will see the ancient church and a valuable votive shrine, to finally reach Piazza dell’Annunziata.

The Golden Age – the Genoese Renaissance

Duration: 3 hours

The XVI century, a period of great splendor, called the “Golden Age,” begins with the alliance that the Republic of Genoa stipulates with Spain.

A journey through where some of most beautiful churches and some of the most elegant Palazzi are located. Palazzi which were part of the “Sistema dei Rolli”, splendid residences of the richest families used to accommodate important State guests on official visits to the city, a unique testimony to the wealth and splendor attained by the Republic of Genoa.

THE MONUMENTAL CEMETERY OF STAGLIENO

Duration: 3 hours

The Monumental Cemetery of Staglieno represents for the Genoese not only a place of remembrance, but also a fascinating artistic and historic testimony.

It is a real open-air museum, with hundreds of statues lined up in the elegant galleries, arcades and funeral chapels that are an important evidence of sculpture in Liguria between the XIX and XX centuries. There are various styles used by sculptors: from realism, neo-Gothic and neo-Renaissance to Art Nouveau and Symbolism.

You will be able to pay homage to the illustrious remains of celebrated citizens such as Fabrizio de André and Gilberto Govi, or sigh at the grave of Lady Constance Wilde, the unhappy wife of Oscar Wilde. Under the shade of the trees in the forest area rests Giuseppe Mazzini, together with many Garibaldini and heroes of the Italian Risorgimento.

OUR GUIDED TOURS iN THE ITALIAN RIVIERA

Nature that plunges directly into the sea, coastal pines lapped by the water, small yet surprising bays and colourful villages built on precarious rocks beaten by the waves: the Riviera east of Genoa offers breathtaking landscapes.

GenovaGuide will show you the best the region has to offer, sharing, as always, its most curious secrets.

We will arrive in Portofino, the pride of the eastern Riviera and one of the most famous international tourist destinations in Liguria since the fifties. We will continue on to Santa Margherita Ligure, where elegance reigns supreme in even the most hidden corners. We will stroll between the brightly coloured houses, trompe-l’œil facades and art nouveau hotels. And of course we will stop to admire the enchanting church dedicated to the Madonna of the Rose.

Our tour will end in Rapallo, where you can wander the typical streets of the old town, full of shops, cafés and restaurants, before surrendering to the call of the sea along the promenade lined with elegant art nouveau cafés and a spectacular view of the Gulf.

We will walk through the maze of narrow alleys and passageways that lead to the small beach in the shadow of the church, and to the tiny harbour with its typical Ligurian fishing boats.

We will then visit San Fruttuoso, a fascinating destination that dates back to the 9th century, which is still only accessible by boat or on foot. We will reach a small bay with pristine, crystal-clear waters, which surrounds the small village and Benedictine complex of San Fruttuoso, restored to its former glory by the Italian Environmental Fund (FAI)
